Common Themes
Introduction
The Habitat Action Plans (HAPs) and Species Action Plans (SAPs) within the Lincolnshire Biodiversity Action Plan relate specifically to the conservation and enhancement of those habitats and species considered to be a priority in the county. Therefore they are highly focused on objectives, targets and actions for those habitats and species.
However, there are a number of cross-cutting themes within which action would result in achievement of a range of habitats and species targets. For example, we need a better understanding of the distribution of Lincolnshire's biodiversity resource to plan conservation effort successfully - this can be achieved through a well-resourced Environmental Records Centre, and many targets for a range of habitats and species can be achieved through the appropriate use of agri-environment grant schemes.
This section identifies "Key Themes" and sets out actions to address them. It includes generic objectives, targets and actions which are not duplicated in individual action plans. The Action Plans for Common Themes apply not only to the priority habitats and species which have their own action plans, but to the entire biodiversity resource in the county, rare and common.
