Lincolnshire Biodiversity Action Plan

Introduction

Local Biodiversity Action Plans are developed as a local, partnership response to the Convention on Biological Diversity. They describe the local biological resource, local priorities and the action needed to ensure a future for local biodiversity. Action taken contributes to achievement of national targets for biodiversity conservation.

Vision

That the historic county of Lincolnshire, including landscapes and water bodies, should be a place where people understand and care about nature, where wildlife and habitats are recognised as part of healthy functioning ecosystems, and where biodiversity is a natural consideration in policies and decisions designed for the benefit and well-being of our urban and rural communities.

Aims

Further Information

Lincolnshire Biodiversity Action Plan (BAP) was first published in 2000 and a revised edition in 2006.

The plan, terms of reference and other supporting documentation can be downloaded from the Documents link in the BAP section.

The third edition of the BAP is due to be published in 2011; in preparation for this, an interim review of the actions was carried out in 2009 - see the Documents section.
