Data Requests

We undertake data searches on behalf of Partners, local naturalists and researchers, and commercial consultants. We charge for the time taken to run a data search (including a contribution to the costs of managing data) for commercial consultants. A proportion of this charge is made available to local naturalists for specific projects.

Data requests are charged at £75 for the first hour and £30 for each half hour thereafter (+ VAT). The majority of data searches take less than 1 hour to complete.

We can provide information on statutory and non-statutory designated sites, and protected and notable species, within Lincolnshire, North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire.

Possible searches can include:

• GIS data search showing statutory and non-statutory sites and BAP & legally protected species
• GIS data search showing recorded habitats
• List of all recorded BAP priority and legally protected species in an area
• List of all recorded BAP priority habitats in an area

We can perform other searches on request.

Metadata describes the contents of datasets allowing for an assement of the quality and usefulness of the data. Metadata for the datasets we hold is available (go to LERC - Documents) as PDF documents, along with a list of datasets for which the Records Centre is custodian.

If you wish us to perform the data search on your behalf, and provide more detailed information, please complete a Data Request Form (go to LERC - Documents) and return it to us by email, fax or post. We will inform you of the costs of a data search before proceeding. We aim to fulfil all data requests within 10 days of receipt of a Data Request Form.
